Lawrence Snider

As a native Ohioan, Larry grew up in Grandview Heights, Ohio and remained in Columbus until moving to Florida where he retired. His childhood and adolescence often found him drawing and painting his surroundings, his friends and family. It was his artistic abilities that paved his way through college at The Ohio State University where he was awarded a Bachelor of Fine Arts Painting, Drawing and Graphics. He studied under renowned artist and professor Sidney Chafetz. After graduation, and uncertain where an art degree may lead him, Larry started his career at a prominent Design studio where his artistic eye gave him a natural ability for residential interior design. He then joined another design firm where he had a successful career for 39 years while also indulging his creative mind. Now, finally in retirement, Larry is free to pursue his life dream of being a full time artist.

In addition to his formal education, Larry studied under renowned Ohio native artist Michael McEwan, known for his impressionistic landscapes. Larry has many pieces in both private collections and commercial businesses. Larry specializes in landscapes, people and pet portraits. He enjoys oils, pastels and charcoal mediums.

Lawrence is currently a member of the St. Augustine Art Association STAAA.
